Village Tourism

   innovative idea

JAMMU AND KASHMIR is north most  state of India comprising over 22 Districts and three sub divisions, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir.  It has two capital cities, Jammu as winter capital, and Kashmir summer capital.  Jammu is hot like rest of north India, Ladakh remains almost cool due to the its altitude and the land is almost barn, while as Kashmir is covered with mountains from al the fours sides, hence is called the valley.  Perched securely among the Himalayas at an average height of about 6000 feet above sea level . The temperature of the valley vary  from cool nights in winter (when the temperature goes to sub zero -12 degree C)  to 35 degree during peak summer days of July.

The overall temperature is pleasant and ideal for the visitors who feel unbearable summers in rest of the world, so they turn up towards Kashmir, and visit numerous health resorts like Gulmarg,  Pahalgam, Mughal Gardens etc etc.

Local Govt ,is here keen to develop various other sites as tourist destinations and in recent past places like Doodhpathri, Tosmaidan, Gurez  and Bungus valley have been enlisted in tourist destinations.

It is now considered as a good source of live hood for the inhabitants  and a good number of people are involved with this trade.

Govt ,of Jammu and Kashmir is trying hard to built up an adequate infrastructure for the comfort of the visitors but still various other places are    still without basic necessities like boarding and lodging facilities.

Serving Nations as NGO recently projected an idea by which aspiring visitors who wish to visit such locations where hotels and restaurants are still a dream, can be accommodated with the locals in their respective homes, as a PG’s at very cheap rates so as they can enjoy the typical living standards of the locals , villages and hamlets.

Serving Nations have surveyed Basantwooder, Shongulpal, Palmaidan, Diskhal, Dupkhal, Sochlipathri, and various other places and have listed up no of families who can provide accomdations food at very low rates . These locations do have mesmerizing beauty. And a visitor can enjoy a lot.

I hope the innovative idea can be appreciated at your end.

Thanking You.

Mustafa Nazir,

Chairman Serving Nations.
